Healthy Blocks

Healthy Blocks is NeighborWorks® Rochester's targeted neighborhood initiative.

Within Healthy Blocks, we work with the residents in transitional neighborhoods to make exterior housing improvements, address quality of life issues, support business development and assist with neighborhood marketing and branding.

We focus on transitional mixed-income neighborhoods that are showing signs of decline but are still struggling to maintain themselves. Because these neighborhoods have not eroded to the point of being among the worst neighborhoods in our community, they are often overlooked by government and non-profit programs. The Healthy Blocks program is designed to prevent their further decline and bring about measurable economic and social re-investment by homeowners, landlords, tenants, area businesses and the larger community.
